Review policy

Who may submit a review

Only holders of a McAfee Institute enrollee account may submit a review, and only through the authenticated enrollee portal on mcafeeinstitute.com. One review per person per program. A review is marked with the verified enrollment badge when the account has a confirmed enrollment (order) record for that program.

Reviews are not incentivized

McAfee Institute does not pay for reviews and does not offer discounts, credits, gift cards, prize entries, course access, exam vouchers, or any other consideration in exchange for writing a review or for writing a favorable one. Requests to leave a review are neutral in wording and are sent regardless of how the enrollee is likely to rate the program.

Moderation: complete list of rejection reasons

Every submission is reviewed against the list below and nothing else. Rating is never a factor in moderation.

  • Spam. Promotional content, repeated links, or content unrelated to a genuine program experience.
  • Personal information. Names, contact details, case details, or any personal data about a third party.
  • Off-topic. Content that does not describe experience with a McAfee Institute program.
  • Not a customer. The submitting account has no enrollment record for the program being reviewed.
  • Abusive language. Harassment, threats, slurs, or targeted personal attacks.
  • Duplicate. The same review submitted more than once for the same program.

No removal, reordering, or suppression by rating

Published reviews are never deleted, hidden, downranked, or reordered on the basis of the rating they carry. Default ordering on every list is newest first. Filters and sort options available to visitors — including highest rated and lowest rated — operate on the same complete data set; there is no minimum rating threshold anywhere on this site. Where McAfee Institute responds to a review, the response is published beneath the original review and the original text is left unchanged.

Correcting your own review

You can request a correction or withdrawal of a review you wrote by signing in to the enrollee portal and contacting support from the account that submitted it, or by emailing McAfee Institute support from the email address on that account. Include the program name and the approximate submission date. Corrections are limited to your own review: we will amend factual errors, fix typos, remove personal information, or withdraw the review at your request. We will not edit the substance of a review on your behalf, and we will not alter a rating except at the reviewer's own written request.
